Pull Up the WebGUI of
a Deliberant Subscriber Module
Over public Networks

Problem: You are on a LAN behind a firewall and you need to pull up the WebGUI of a Deliberant wireless SM (subscriber module), which is on a private IP address, on an AP (access point) with a public IP address.

Detailed setup:

You (private, firewalled):  192.168.0.5
Mesh AP (public): 65.201.93.121
Deliberant SM (WAN IP):  192.168.1.207

Solution:

Use Putty to tunnel into the Deliberant. Download Putty.exe. (if you want to read further on this subject, a good place to start is Breaking Firewalls with OpenSSH and PuTTY).

After you have downloaded Putty, open it up and put in the public IP address of the Mesh AP that the Deliberant SM is behind. You may save this information so you don't have to type in the IP address of this AP every time.

Go to the SSH --> Tunnels screen:

Add a new forward port. Your destination will be the LAN side of the Deliberant, with a destination port of 80. You will put in a source port of 80 as well. Click the "add" button and it will move this information to the middle box, as shown in the picture above. You can click "open" at this point.

This will open up a CLI interface in which you enter your user name and password for the Mesh AP:

(Note: The IP addresses have been manually edited in this picture)

After the connection is made, open up your browser and type in the URL of "localhost"

This will bring up the WebGUI for the deliberant.
